Bowcliffe Hall Wedding – Photography for a Unique Couple in a Unique Yorkshire Wedding Venue
Bowcliffe Hall Wedding
Welcome to Mr & Mrs McG’s Bowcliffe Hall wedding photography. Here’s a taster of a wonderfully unique wedding day at one of Yorkshire’s most stylish and unique wedding venues near Wetherby in West Yorkshire.
With its aeronautical architectural style – it is literally shaped as an airplane wing – and its interior design paying homage to aviation hero and Yorkshireman Robert Blackburn, it is a unique and extremely stylish venue.
Have you spotted the out-take…
“We love these pictures, and can’t wait to see the rest. Also, a HUGE thanks for being part of our day and capturing all the best bits.”
Nina did her own wedding day make-up (she said it took her almost three hours!) and Emily Hawkes, a Leeds based hair artist, who I’ve worked with before, created her hair style.
There were no set speeches. Andy relayed his story about his first meeting with his wife-to-be. He mentioned their first date, although he was reminded that the said first date could not be strictly classified as a date-date because Nina wasn’t aware she’d been asked out!
Andy also joked that he knew that he came after their two cats in Nina’s affections, but that his new wife would always be first in his heart.
Jenny Packham bridal, known for beading and sequins, rocks the wedding world. Here is the pale rose sequinned wedding gown, ‘Dare’ that suited Nina perfectly. Of course, she bought the shoes to match.
Where does Vegas come in, you might ask? Nina and Andy were both on separate holidays in Las Vegas with friends. It’s fair to say that Andy was rather smitten with Nina on the holiday. Nina lived in London at the time, and Andy in Leeds. Fortunately, work duties meant that he had to travel to London and he used this opportunity to ask Nina to meet when he had free time. She was often busy! Knowing she was very special, he continued to try and meet with her for almost two years. Look at where knowing you’ve met that special person, and persistence gets you!
Nina had her best friend as her bridesmaid, and one flower girl. When I asked this flower girl her name, she replied, ‘It’s Ava, as in Ava -Quaver!’ I knew we’d get on.
Krispy Creme doughnut with white icing and a sprinkling of gold. How is that for an alternative and classy wedding favour! It also signifies something… keep reading.
As you can see, this couple let their unique style and taste right into their wedding. All that you see is exactly ‘them’. The music, dancing and partying was a big part of their day, and they spent a lot of time on their playlist. Also…. they planned it all in about nine weeks!
Nina found a photograph of a Bowcliffe Hall wedding online that she fell in love with. Luckily, that photograph was one of mine. Her search journey took her to the Boho Chic Weddings Instagram page, et voila… Andy emailed me with his enquiry.
Nearly all of my couples are warm, fuzzy ones, and that’s how I like it. I am all for the hugging and the kissing and all of the wedding day emotions. Andy’s first email said how much they wished they married earlier so that his dad who sadly died earlier in the year, could have seen them marry.
As you can see, their whole day was one of great style, warmth and fun. They packed a lot of personality into their Bowcliffe Hall wedding day, and we even fitted in a a sparkler walk before more dancing and cocktail sipping re-commenced.
Soon, they move from Bramhope, Leeds to New York, New York! Their families and friends are already missing them.
Many congratulations to the McGees Xox
