Cherish Your Wedding Dress at Hazlewood Castle

Remember those few sunny weeks we enjoyed in Spring?  The newly-wed Mrs Porter and I took advantage of the warm sunshine and headed out to the gorgeous Hazlewood Castle in Tadcaster.

First, the all important hair and make-up in The Daffodil Room (note not one but TWO dresses are hanging up!)

Having photographed Abi at her wedding the previous August, I thought she’d suit very natural make-up to bring out her beautiful green eyes. With her long dark hair and colouring, and ideal shape, a gold 30s style dress was taken along as an extra idea (love to dress up!).  Abi loved it, so we started off with it and a hairstyle to match, created by the very personable and creative Helen Guy.

Then back to the dressing room to change into her wedding dress and a hair re-style to suit, with guidance from Helen on how to attach a full length cathedral veil that Abi did not get chance to wear on her wedding day. It was sent over to her from family in Ireland, so it was important to her to wear it.

All of Abi’s wedding day jewellery were special gifts from her husband over the years before they were wed. Her ‘something borrowed’ was a sparkly loan from her mum

Looking thrilled to be wearing her wedding dress again. Here’s another favourite.

Most brides would like to get chance to do this at some point during their wedding day
