We weren’t quite so lucky with the weather on the anniversary. It was a very dark and rainy day so we worked with the mood of the available light

The Victoria Room at Hazlewood Castke was where their wedding ceremony was held so we definitely had to take some anniversary photographs here

As Helen and Paul used to play chess together, we thought we’d incorporate this personal feature into their Hazlewood Castle wedding anniversary photo-shoot. hand-crafted chess pieces are available in the Victoria Room, which has a warm glow and snug feel throughout the year.

About Helen & Paul, their children and their wedding anniversary photo-shoot:

We met 12 years ago on a night out on the town. We travelled the world together in 2005 and had out first child, Scarlett in 2007. Billy came along in 2010 and we finally tied the knot in May 2012, 2 days before Billy’s 2nd Birthday. We had the kids christened on the same day we got married.

We wanted another shoot for a few reasons. One being that I just had to wear the dress one more time. The second because we thought it would be a lovely way to mark our anniversary and get the shots I hadn’t thought of on the day in the bluebells and lastly to have the chance to have our photograph taken by Catherine. I loved Catherine and her work from the moment I met her and jumped at the chance to do this with her. The shoot itself was really strange for me at first as I am used to being on the other side of the lens as a boudoir photographer at Masque photography. Catherine made sure we got exactly what we wanted to out of it. It was very much a collaboration of ideas with easy to follow directions from her. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and absolutely adore the end results!
