Mirfield Monastery Wedding / Amanda & Lloyd

Welcome to Amanda & Lloyd’s Mirfield Monastery wedding

It was a sunny day and a cloudy day and we missed every single shower – yay! Just before leaving her parents’ home, Amanda half-joked that she didn’t want to go. We all saw how nervous she was at being the centre of attention and, as you will see, she made it of course and a wonderful day was had by all.

The couple met on a night out in Ossett, West Yorkshire many years ago and share a love of ET, The Muppets and other cute, fun things. I don’t know how Lloyd proposed but I will find out! I do know that they wanted something different for their wedding and they made an extensive research of wedding venues in Yorkshire. They found Mirfield Monastery and thought it was an unusual Yorkshire wedding venue that suited them and their wedding planning.

Here’s how their wedding day began:

The guests were kept entertained with the muppets singing. ‘We’re going to a wedding’

Aww – Amanda was so nervous at this point. You can see why she was only half joking when she was saying, ‘I don’t want to go’!

And, back to what this couple are very good at – laughing together

Love this moment

There were readings by two adults and three children. The sermon was about how long marriages are like wedding rings, which become scratched and scuffed on the outside with time and wear but the inside remains shiny.

A windy wedding day can be a bride’s worst enemy but good for certain photographs

There’s going to be a Part 2 to Amanda & Lloyd’s Mirfield Monastery wedding day, so do come back for the wedding breakfast and speeches highlights and CAKE!

Oh, AND there’s the dancing and some more romantic Mr & Mrs moments too.
